Have you ever heard of "religious switching"? The Pew Research Center describes it as a growing "phenomenon" where individuals shift their religious identities from childhood to adulthood. This doesn't refer to changes within the same faith, but rather to those who either adopt a new religion or disaffiliate religious practice altogether. Pew's latest report highlights a surge in this trend in recent years.

Nothing in the second Trump administration has divided Washington more sharply than the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), headed by tech entrepreneur Elon Musk. The frenetic effort has featured foibles, but it has also uncovered shocking wastes of taxpayer dollars - discoveries which may have earned DOGE more detractors than its faults. Whatever the final results may be, it's worthwhile for Christians to consider a driving impulse behind DOGE's work that is deeply consistent with biblical values.

The United States has been divided politically practically since its inception - Democratic-Republicans often clashed with Federalists early on, the Whig Party and the Bull Moose Party were both relatively short-lived and replaced by more dominant factions, and the Democrats and Republicans are still at odds today. But a newer, deeper political divide is now emerging, one which is poised to shape the future of American political and social life for generations to come.

Today's younger generations might be facing more uncertainty than ever. In a technologically advanced world where nearly everything seems within reach, finding purpose and meaning feels no less daunting. In fact, this robust access to people, resources, and news all across the globe might only be deepening life's confusion. Every person longs to live a meaningful life, and youth is the prime time to discover what that looks like, right? Yet, any path we take apart from God and His truth ultimately leads to emptiness.

"The Alaska State Medical Board opposes hormonal and surgical treatments for gender dysphoria in minors due to insufficient evidence of long-term benefits and risks of irreversible harm," the board told the state legislature on March 21, reporting a resolution it unanimously adopted at its March 20 meeting. "The Board urges members of the legislature to consider statutory limits on such treatments."

A special committee in the House of Commons concluded its consideration last week of amendments to a landmark bill to legalize assisted suicide in the United Kingdom. Rejecting nearly all efforts to protect vulnerable people and provide procedural safeguards, the committee now sends a final bill to the full Commons for the Report Stage, during which only amendments may be discussed, and then on to the Third Reading, where no amendments are made and another vote on the bill will take place.
